BYD has officially unveiled the refreshed Tang L SUV at the 2025 Guangzhou Auto Show. Known in overseas markets as the Sealion 8 or Atto 8, the latest version delivers a bold exterior redesign, an upgraded cabin experience, and improved electric performance.
The fully electric variants are the main highlight, offered in single- or dual-motor configurations. The top dual-motor model generates 230 kW at the front and 580 kW at the rear, allowing 0–100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.

Every variant uses BYD’s second-generation 100.531 kWh LFP Blade Battery, delivering CLTC ranges of 560 km, 600 km, or 670 kmdepending on the configuration. Built on the Super e-Platform with kilo volt architecture, the Atto 8 supports ultra-fast charging up to 1,000 kW, which BYD says can add about 370 km of range in just five minutes.
The SUV retains BYD’s Dragon Face identity but now features reprofiled “dragon whiskers” for a cleaner, more dynamic appearance. A redesigned D-pillar improves natural light for third-row passengers, while a roof-mounted lidar unit enhances the vehicle’s intelligent-driving capabilities. BYD equips all trims with the God’s Eye B laser-based DiPilot 300 system, bringing high-level driver-assistance features as standard.

The updated model also introduces the latest DiLink 150 interface with adaptive brightness, seasonal themes, and interactive mascot characters. Advanced autonomous functions now include “parking-spot to parking-spot” navigation, enabling the SUV to autonomously exit, maneuver through obstacles, and park at the destination.
